Hearing Loop Available at DeVos Performance Hall
The Hearing Loop system in place for the hearing impaired will allow hearing aids to serve as wireless loudspeakers, delivering clear, sharp, customized sound right inside the ear. An induction loop system transmits magnetic energy to telecoil-equipped hearing aids through a wire that surrounds the audience. Patrons simply flip a switch on their hearing aid and the sound is transmitted directly into their ears.

What hearing aids can receive loop broadcasts?

Most behind-the-ear hearing aids routinely come with telecoil sensors, as do many in-the-ear hearing aids. These are the hearing aids typically worn by those with the most profound loss, the very people most needing hearing assistance. A show of hands of Self-Help for Hard of Hearing People convention attendees revealed that nearly all wore hearing aids with telecoils.
